The Peninsula Tokyo is a hotel located at Yurakucho, Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. It opened on September 1, 2007, and is managed by Malcolm Thompson, former General Manager of the Park Hyatt Tokyo.

In the annual Nikkei ranking of "Dream Luxury Hotels" published on January 7, 2008 [1], the Peninsula Tokyo placed 2nd in the readers' survey, but was ranked 14th among 33 hotels by travel writers. According to Nikkei, "The second-place The Peninsula Tokyo grabbed people's attention by opening in autumn 2007 in front of the Imperial Palace. A woman in her 30s said she picked the hotel because it is a new hotel that people talk about and because the Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong was also magnificent." The report also quotes Japanese essayist Hisashi Kashiwai as saying "recent foreign entrants model themselves after ryokans, traditional Japanese inns, but they have not reached that level after all....scales of operation are to big too oversee and staff do not seem to have been fully trained yet..."
